Christmas is less than 100 days away and our team is eagerly setting our holiday plans with shopping, events and decorating. But despite the excitement, the question that remains every year is: what will my Christmas color scheme be? For those of us who love creating a certain holiday aesthetic, the color scheme applies to the tree but also to the table setting, wrapping paper and more. Whether you’re decorating for the first time or you’re ready to refresh your Christmas decor, here are 8 Christmas color schemes to inspire your holiday decor.
The Classics
RED, GOLD & GREEN
This scheme is one that never gets old because there’s no color that signifies Christmas like red. The red in this look is dominant but is softened by the green and the gold adds a luxurious touch to it.
GREEN, WHITE & GOLD
One of our favorite ways to enhance this color scheme is to mix matte green ornaments and ribbon with gold. This color combination also works well when used to decorate garland on your mantle or banister.
BLUE, WHITE, GOLD & SILVER
What makes this scheme feel like Christmas the most is when the white decor has frosted touches and different shades of blue are integrated like deep blues and light blues. It creates a winter wonderland aesthetic that’s elegant but still inviting.
RED, WHITE & GOLD
This scheme is all about balance. Red should be the primary color with white as your secondary color and gold as your accent color. Try using red picks with red stems on a flocked tree then add white ornaments and gold ribbon to complement it.

BLUE, GREEN & GOLD
This one is for our farmhouse lovers. With this palette, you want to stick with your deeper blues and your rich greens then add contrast with gold accents and plaid. Here’s a great example of a tree from influencer Kelley Nan whose blue, green, gold tree was done really well.
BLUSH PINK, WHITE & GOLD
We love this look for a room that incorporates gold and pink decor. This palette looks the best when it’s added to a flocked tree which will already give you a lot of white. If you’re up for shopping for it–incorporate rose gold decorations instead of gold.
BLUE, WHITE & GOLD
The only way this palette is done right is if deep blues reign supreme. Add deep blue velvet ribbon and layer it with gold satin or metallic ribbon then throw in white stems and it’s a winner. You can also do the opposite end of the spectrum and do baby blue, champagne and white.
VIOLET, LILAC & GOLD
The key with this color combination is to incorporate different shades of purple–a deep purple like violet mixed with lighter shades like lilac. For the gold, we recommend using a lighter, champagne-like gold rather than a deeper, darker gold.
